CSEA Member “Visitors” Can Attend Annual Conference
This year’s CSEA Annual Conference has gone virtual, and since everything is online, members now can have an opportunity to access this annual event for free. All you have to do is register.
When you register, you will need your CSEA Member ID, Area, and Region. Chapter 262 is Area G, Region 35. If you do not know your membership ID, you can find it on your CSEA Membership Card or contact the Chapter 262 Treasurer Zak Gallegos at treasurer@csea262.org.
To Register, do the following:
Click on "Register Now"
Enter the event password: Twoaxe1927
Select "Member Visitor" as your Registration Type
Complete the rest of the form
While registration is free, you can also choose to receive a Conference Packet, just like your Chapter 262 delegates receive. The packet includes a conference bag, t-shirt, and pin. Conference packets are $25. If you select to receive a conference packet, after you register, print your invoice and mail it along with a check for $25 made payable to CSEA to:
CSEA Headquarters

San Jose CA, 95131
After you register, CSEA will verify your membership and send a confirmation e-mail.
Member Visitors to Annual Conference will not be able to listen to the business sessions or vote for resolutions (your Chapter delegates will do that), but you will be able to view the reports, presentations, and attend any of the Education Day activities:
Hear from Association President, Ben Valdepena about the state of the union
Meet all your State Board Members and hear updates on each Area
Learn about CSEA's budget
Listen to and view an inspirational speech by motivational speaker Kevin Bracy
Attend valuable educational webinars on a number of important
Visit the Virtual Provider Area and enter to win many different prizes
Shop in the CSEA store
And so much more...
Most members often never have the opportunity to attend Annual Conference. This year is your opportunity to attend, because it is online and incurs no out of pocket expenses for you. Take advantage of this opportunity to get a small glimpse of the many activities of Annual Conference beyond the business sessions and resolutions.
We hope to "see" you there!
Representative Needed!
Your Chapter 262 leadership needs a Chapter member who works part-time to represent CSEA 262 on the Classified Professional Development Committee (CPDC). We are looking for someone to represent part-time classified professionals in Chapter 262 who understands the needs and issues relating to professional development training unique to a part-time employee.
To serve as a representative on the CPDC, you must be a Chapter 262 member, you must work part-time (any schedule less than 40 hours per week), and you must be willing to represent CSEA Chapter 262 and the interests of unit members. The purpose of CPDC is:
To provide guidance to the College through recommendations made to PDC regarding professional development goals and objectives for classified employees.
To establish and maintain channels of communication amongst all campus programs in the development of appropriate classified professional development activities.
To certify job-related ongoing on-campus professional development activities for the Professional Growth Benefit.
To plan Classified Professional Development Day activities in collaboration with the College.
To certify qualifications of Classified presenters who are released to provide professional development workshops or trainings.
To assess Classified professional development needs and advise Professional & Organizational Development, Classified Senate, CSEA 262, and CSEA 651 on matters relating to the professional development of Classified employees.
If you are interested in serving as a CSEA 262 representative on the CPDC, please fill out the College Governance Committee Representative Application Form on the Chapter web site by following this link. You can also learn more about being a college governance representative or a selection committee representative. Learn about the college Committee at:
http://www.mtsac.edu/governance/committees/index.html.
During the telecommute period, if you are working on an assignment your manager has given you, your participation on the CPDC will be “release time” on your time sheet. If you are not working on an assignment, your participation is just “paid status” on the timesheet.
Year 3 Contract and Forms Now Available
Negotiations can be a lengthy process at the best of times, and these are not the best of times. While the District and CSEA 262 negotiating teams are learning how and adjusting to negotiating via Zoom, we are making progress, albeit slower than usual.
We have reached tentative agreements on a couple of issues, including the Holiday Schedule. As soon as our CSEA Field Office has completed its review of the agreement, we will notify you about the 2020-21 Holiday schedule.
What we have completed is posting the 2017-2020 Year three contract and all the new forms. The forms had to be made accessible and useable, so they are now all Word documents that can be filled out.
Wet signatures are no longer required because forms are being forwarded via e-mail since we cannot be on campus. Simple type in your name where a “signature” is required, save the document, and then forward that saved document with your signature to Human Resources.
If your evaluation is due during the telecommuting period, the contract language is still in effect. Your manager must provide you a copy of the evaluation at least two workdays prior to your evaluation meeting, and you are entitled to representation if you choose. Make sure your manager is using the new evaluation forms, which are located on the CSEA 262 contract page of the Human Resources web site at the following link:
